Nominees announced for the Consumer Choice Awards 2014

by on April 1, 2014

Visa, British Airways,  Argos, Veuve Cliquot, Activia,  EasyJet, Phones 4 U, Tesco, Boots, NetFlix, St. Moriz, Vaepen, Travelsupermarket.com  and Innocent are just a few top brands nominated by over 127,560 consumers for UK’s  1st annual Consumer Choice Awards. The Consumer Choice Awards  is one of the first annual award ceremonies to provide a voice for consumers to celebrate the brands, products and services that they love the most by nominating and voting online.

The growth of social media and other online platforms has led to Consumers looking to other consumers more than ever for recommendations on the best products and services available in the market. From Hotel to Restaurant reviews, cars to travel comparison websites. Consumers are now playing a bigger role not just with the amount they spend on a brand but more importantly how much they think of a brand by shared experiences via their extended social circles.CCA

From the start of the year (January 2014) , consumers have had a chance to nominate across over 22 categories at the official CCA micro website and over 127,560 took part with the buying public nominating their best products, brands and services. This week sees the official launch of the nominees and the commencement of voting on www.consumerchoiceawards.org

Christina J. Jesaitis , Senior Brand Manager, Veuve Clicquot nominated for the Best Food & Beverage brand commented “It is an honour to be nominated for Best Food & Beverage for the 1st annual Consumer Choice Awards 2014!

The Consumer Choice Awards nominee announcement falls on a very important week for the advertising industry in the UK as hundreds flock to the capital to celebrate this year’s annual Advertising Week which is aimed at re-enforcing ways in which brands and consumer engagement can be much more fruitful, creative and tangible. The Consumer Choice Awards is building up to become the mark of distinction that celebrates brands who go that extra mile to provide a better service for the buying public. Rather than influence through traditional advertising; Interactivity and online engagement through the CCA website will yield a much more relevant picture of how popular and successful a brand is by ultimately letting the public decide the winner in all 22 key categories.

Emi Gal, CEO of Brainent commented As an advertiser, what you want to do is you want to reach your audience and it doesn’t really matter where that audience is. In digital, you can not only reach your audience, but you can also interact with your audience and engage with them and create what they call in digital “earned media”.  So, you don’t have to just buy advertising. You can buy advertising, you can get social following and then you can just publish stuff that is relevant to your followers. And that is “earned media” for the advertisers, essentially free, because they built up that audience on their digital profile. I think that’s an amazing opportunity that didn’t exist before the internet because you couldn’t have an easy way to create a group of followers, so to speak, that are interested in your brand.

The winners of the 1st annual Consumer Choice Awards 2014   will be announced at the prestigious awards ceremony taking place in London on the 28th of May 2014.
